Public consultation opens on Channel Islands air licence applications

(MENAFN) The public is invited to comment on three air licence applications concerning essential air routes in the Channel Islands. Guernsey's Transport Licensing Authority (TLA) is consulting on licences for flights to and from Gatwick, Alderney, Southampton, and the Jersey route starting 15 January.

TLA President Deputy John Gollop said recent changes in Guernsey’s air travel market represented “a material shift and significant change for the travelling public” and emphasized the importance of public input.

The applications under consultation are: a Loganair application for a scheduled passenger and cargo service between Guernsey and Southampton; an Aurigny application for a scheduled passenger and cargo service between Guernsey and Jersey; and a Loganair application for a scheduled passenger and cargo service between Guernsey and Jersey.

Two of the consultations will close this Friday, while the Loganair Guernsey–Jersey route consultation ends on 15 December. Comments can be submitted in writing or via email.
