UN Raises Concern Over Israeli Strikes Killing Gaza Civilians
"We reiterate that civilians and civilian infrastructure, including humanitarians and their supplies and property, must always be protected," UN deputy spokesperson Farhan Haq tells reporters while relaying the humanitarian office's concerns.
According to casualty information cited by the UN Children's Fund, nine children are killed or die from their injuries over the previous week. Among those killed are two sisters, aged 6 and 12, along with four other children ranging from 3 to 14 years old.
A pregnant woman and her unborn child also die after being hit by gunfire, while at least 13 additional children sustain injuries.
UN security partners report that attacks continue across Gaza over the weekend, with particularly intense activity in areas west of the "Yellow Line." The reported attacks include airstrikes, artillery fire, naval bombardment and gunfire.
